Let's celebrate!!! 7 years and still counting!

Seven Years of Loads of Dignity

I can hardly wrap my head around the fact that on February 19th, Loads of Dignity turns seven.

Seven years…

Seven years of more laundry pods than I could ever count, and more dryer sheets than I imagined one nonprofit could go through…

Seven years of strangers becoming guests…

guests becoming familiar faces…

and some of those faces becoming family…

Seven years of being someone’s biggest cheerleader while they worked through some of the hardest trials of their lives…

Seven years of watching a new guest walk in with their head down—unsure, guarded, carrying more than laundry…

and watching them walk out lighter, smiling, saying “thank you” more than once, often saying more with their eyes than with words…

Seven years of children being bullied less and making friends more—simply because they don’t smell like poverty anymore…

Seven years of adults regaining enough self-esteem to apply for jobs…

Seven years of helping people believe that dignity does matter...no matter where you live or what your circumstances are…

There isn’t one thing I would change about these seven years…

except maybe wishing we had started sooner…

Seven years of a community that once didn’t know our name or our mission…

now knowing both...and standing with us because of it…

To every donor who gave…

every volunteer who showed up…

every business who believed…

and every guest who trusted us...thank you.

You are the reason this mission continues.

"Restoring dignity, one load at a time."
